Coaching
There is an increasing awareness of the need for people to take responsibility for their personal and professional development. Coaching offers a supportive and motivating environment to explore one’s aspirations and identify ways to fulfil one’s goals. Coaching is forward-directed and seeks to find and amplify inner our motivation and to ensure follow through of intentions. The coaching, facilitation strategies differ depending on the client’s specific requirements. We offer the following approaches:
a) Team Coaching:
The model used is based primarily on the Organisation and Relationship Coaching System Model (ORSC), but also draws on Results Coaching. The Team Coaching process is suitable for departments, schools, research teams, student cohorts, or student-supervisor relationships. Teams vary from 2 – 20 participants. The whole coaching process takes between 3-6 months depending on frequency of sessions. Each session lasts 2-4 hours – depending on the size of the team and the specific design of the intervention.
Team Coaching 4 x 2-hour sessions
Teams may be between two and twenty people. Team coaching is a constructive way to build relationships, create better communication and resolve potential conflicts. Coaches provide opportunities to clarify team goals, individual positions and perspectives in relation to the group, and to prioritize aspects that need attention. Team coaches use a variety of strategies to foster meaningful communication and to increase understanding of different and changing roles, opinions and concerns. Frameworks used include cultural intelligence, deep democracy, and systems thinking
b) Individual Coaching
The models drawn on for individual coaching are Co-active Coaching and Results Coaching. One-on-one coaching is especially beneficial for PhD students; staff members in new positions or those facing new challenges. Typically, an individual will have 10 coaching session of between 1 and 1.5 hours. The goals of the coaching are set by the client – with assistance from our coaches.
Individual Coaching 6 x 1-hour sessions (virtual or face-to-face)
